Royalton Memorial Library Board of Trustees is pleased to announce Tyler Strong has been selected as the new Library Director. Tyler will succeed Marianne Pysarchyk, whose final day of work is June 7.
Many of you will recognize Tyler because he has been working as an assistant at the library for the last year. Tyler jumped right in after he was hired, hosting programs for children and adults, including an Apple Pie Baking class, a Bad Movie Night film series, a Cult Movies program and Tabletop Night (D&D), which still runs weekly. He’s been responsible for managing for the InterLibrary Loan program, and of course, he is the helpful person behind the circulation desk on Thursdays and Fridays.
“Tyler’s energy, creativity, and community-centric philosophy will be great assets to RML as we move forward into the next chapter,” said Phoebe Roda, President of the Royalton Memorial Library Board of Trustees.
Tyler will begin in his new role on Tuesday, June 11. Marianne and Tyler are working closely together to ensure a smooth transition.
As Library Director, Strong will be responsible for all operations of the library, including clerical, outreach, fundraising, and supervisory duties and he will continue the library’s commitment to providing quality programming and services to all members of the community.
“I could not be more pleased to be undertaking the position of Director at Royalton Memorial Library. I am enthusiastic about cultivating an environment that promotes learning; however, I do not believe that education has to take place within a book. In many instances, we can learn something new from a simple conversation where stories are told, and smiles are shared,” said Tyler.
A Fond Farewell
Marianne Pysarchyk, whose final day of work is June 7, has served Royalton residents and the surrounding communities with continued library services and new programs such as film screenings, book clubs, and the popular Cabin Fever Winter reading challenge.
Marianne, and her children Stefan and Zofia will be heading to Connecticut to begin another new adventure.
“I wish all the best to Royalton Memorial Library’s new director and am confident that Tyler and the library staff will continue to provide excellent library services and continue to provide not only educational but entertaining library programs and events that Royalton residents are sure to enjoy,” Marianne said.
The staff and the Trustees echo her sentiments and wish Marianne the very best on her new adventures and hope she will come back often and visit.
